We are conducting a global survey on workplace email habits to discover if email is a problem for knowledge workers, and if it is, what the sources of the problem are.Don't get us wrong, the Inbox Alliance isn't a group of email haters. We think email is a great communication tool that has helped worker productivity. Yet somewhere along the line email appears to have been corrupted and has become a productivity problem in itself.
We know from the amount of time we spend in our Inboxes that email is eating more and more of our working day. Anecdotally, friends and colleagues tell us they suffer similar problems. We have lost count of the number of times we have had colleagues rant about email. We decided that the only way to discover if there is a problem was to conduct a survey.
